Women’s voices and achievements are underrepresented across kendo-related media and literary channels. I am interested in publishing essays on this website that share personal experiences, perspectives, and reflections on kendo that are written by women.
Topic suggestions for your kendo essay:
-Philosophical aspect
–Technical analysis
-Kendo knowledge
–Memorable experience
-Personal achievement
–Women kendoka you appreciate
–An inequality observed
–A personal challenge or issue
–Something you value about kendo
Essays should be written in English, include an original title, and be up to 1500 words in length. I am interested in essays that express your voice rather than perfect English. The texts will be formatted and proofread before being published on this website.
The final proof will be sent to you for your approval before it is published on this website. You will be able to withdraw your essay or delete your published essay from this website at any stage.
Your name and a personal photograph can be published with your essay or you can choose not to include information that identifies you. Please be mindful that I am not interested in essays that unjustifiably harm the reputation of any person or organisation.
Essays that fit within the above criteria will be published on this website. I will reply to your submission within a month of receiving it. If this sounds like an exciting opportunity please send your essay in a Word document before 28 February 2023 to my email address:

I look forward to reading about your experiences and perspectives!
